Hey, readerland.  Sorry I've been away for a while, but things got kinda hectic.  It's all good now, though.  So, welcome back, me.  Thanks, me.  Awesome.

*Author's Note:  I started writing this blog this past Saturday, the 12th.  I've added a couple of new things since then, given the events of last night's Monday Night Raw.

So, what is today's topic?  Actually, I want to touch on a few things.  The first one is stupid people.

So, one of the sites I go to for wrestling information has a blog section.  Now, as with ANY blog, there are good ones and bad ones.  One that I found particularly good was by a British gentleman who watched British wrestling and then American wrestling, followed by Puroresu (Japanese wrestling) and found British and Puro better than American and I can't say I argue.  There are some very good American wrestlers, but the workrate in Britain and Japan is miles above America.  Not the point.  The point is is that this gentleman is no longer going to be blogging on this site because some of the feedback that he received was apparently SO horrible (it involved his children) that is made his wife break down in tears.  IN TEARS!  Seriously.  How much does your life suck is you have to verbally (textually?) assault someone's family INCLUDING THEIR CHILDREN simply because they have a different opinion than you?  That is outrageous and completely unnecessary.  Whoever you are, you should be ashamed of yourself.  Honestly, I get angry very easily.  I have never denied that.  However, it takes a whole 'nother level of stupid and assheadedness to make me find someone and punch them repeatedly in the head.  And by repeatedly, I mean attempting to beat the stupid out of them.  Which in this person's case, would need a lot.

So, this is a spoiler, but The Rock returned to Raw last night and was introduced as the Special Host of Wrestlemania.  I watched the return and honestly, it was kinda chilling to see The Rock back in the ring for the first time in seven years.  I thought he played the crowd as well as he ever did.  My only concern about this return is how relevant is it?  I understand that this will most likely cause a spike in the buyrates of Wrestlemania, but how long will Rock stick around?  Will he wrestle?  How will Rock fit in with WWE PG?  The clip I watched of his promo had several spots bleeped out, which means that Rock didn't tone anything down for the PG rating, which I don't think bodes well for Rocky.  Do I think this means that WWE PG is going away?  No.  The whole point of the change in rating was to get a new generation of fans.  Hooking in children would allow them to age the "product" as their fans age.

What I don't understand is how so many people see the change of rating for the WWE as the reason that the ENTIRE reason that the WWE's product is "bad" or "substandard."  It has more to do with the storylines that are being shown to the audience are not that great.  Changing the rating will just turn bad storylines into bad storylines with T&A and the word "ass" thrown in.  Making that change wouldn't make anything better.  Really, the best thing we as fans can do is ride this out and hope the writing gets better.  As someone who has watched wrestling off and on for almost 35 years, I've seen wrestling get better and worse.  It'll get better.  Trust me.

Next topic.  Gaming.  Okay, so we have an issue in our group.  The issue is that one player who initially agreed with our 4 pm start time on Sundays isn't able to make it until 5:30.  Now, I don't mind someone being a little late because it give the rest of us time to sit and relax and just chat.  But an hour and a half?  Come on.  I understand that he has kids and a messed up home situation, but he agreed to meet at 4.  At least this week he has emailed the group to say he isn't going to be able to play, which honestly, is okay with me.  I just want him to decide what's going on, because he couldn't make the last session either, but he didn't call or email last time.  Srsly.  That's annoying.

The other change is that we've added another player.  Technically, it's two new players.  Including the player in the previous paragraph, that makes seven players and me, which is kind of a lot.  And other than our host, I had never gamed with any of these people before.  I have to say that, other than the player in the previous paragraph, the group dynamic has been pretty good so far.  We just had another guy join  at the last session and while it's kind of hard to gauge a relationship on one meeting, I think he'll fit in well.

So, we have two Rogues, a Bard, A Fighter, a Cleric and a Monk and the new guy, who hasn't told me what class he's playing.  I have to say I find it really funny that in a group of six players (who I know their class) and the group has only one straight up melee class.

The only concern I have about this large of a group is keeping it challenging, combat-wise, while not making things way too complicated.  I'll figure something out.  I usually do.

Until next time, take care.
